Today is an amazing day. Not only is it “Star Wars Day”, it’s time to celebrate the end of the semester and the end of the Spoken Language Processing Lab’s first year in Logan, UT. What an incredible year it’s been! The lab is up and thriving. We’re collecting data from children and adults. We’ve even begun interdisciplinary collaborations with new colleagues across USU. We celebrated with a lunch on me at one of our favorite spots in town, Morty’s. They not only have the best burgers, they have the best view as well.

Today we also celebrated Shea Long and Kirany Gines’ graduations with their bachelor degrees in communicative disorders and deaf education. I feel so lucky to have crossed paths with these women. I am even luckier to know they will be my colleagues before I know it.
