Meet the team

Dr. Brittan Barker is the director of the Aural Rehabilitation Lab at Utah State University. She holds a Ph.D. in Speech & Hearing Science and an M.S. in Cognitive Psychology from the University of Iowa. She loves learning, teaching, and talking about cognitive science… especially when it’s focused on human listening. Despite growing up in south Louisiana, since joining the faculty at USU she developed a deep love for the mountain west. So, when she’s not in the lab, you can find her out on one of the many trails in the Wasatch Valley with her family and dog.

Bailey Call is in her first year of the Doctorate of Audiology program at Utah State University. She loves learning and research and is excited for her future as an audiologist.

Vanessa Snow is in her second year of the Doctorate of Audiology program at Utah State University. She received her undergraduate degree from USU as well. She is excited to continue learning about aural rehabilitation and person-centered care while working in the on-campus audiology clinics. In her free time, Vanessa enjoys learning the guitar, Dungeons and Dragons, and binging shows with her fiancé, sister, and cat.

Aaron Jolly is in his first year of the Doctorate of Audiology program at Utah State University.

Rachael Murdock is beginning her second year of her Audiology Doctorate program at Utah State University.

Jennifer Zicka is a first year Audiology student at Utah State University. She completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology at the University of Dayton.

Jeremy Pritt is from Sacramento, California and is currently in his first-year of his Audiology program at Utah State University. Jeremy particularly enjoys working with adults and performing research to learn more about helping others with their hearing. In his spare time, Jeremy enjoys trying new foods, visiting Bear Lake, and enjoying a cold Dr. Pepper with his wife.

Molly Allsop is from Dallas, Texas and is currently a sophomore at Utah State University. She is working towards her bachelor’s degree in Communicative Disorders and Deaf Education, in hopes of getting her master’s in Speech Language Pathology. She plans to work in an elementary setting, where her love for children can be a part of her everyday work life! Molly is excited to further develop her interest in communicative disorders and deaf education as she spends the year in the Aural Rehabilitation Lab! In her free time she loves to hike, hangout with friends, watch movies, and FaceTime her family back home!

Tess Crawford is in her junior year of her undergraduate program for Communication Disorders and Deaf Education with a minor in Human Development. After graduation, she is planning on a master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology. She is planning to work with younger children in an educational setting, but is also very excited to learn about the other ways SLPs can be used in the health of individuals of all ages. She has enjoyed volunteering for The Family Place, doing workshops with Girl Scouts of America, raising money for Prevent Child Abuse America, and being a member of the Kappa Delta Sorority. When not studying, you can often find her paddleboarding on beautiful lakes, discovering new melodies to learn on her guitar, and creating unique art pieces.

Kyla is in her last year in her undergraduate degree majoring in Communicative Disorders and Deaf Education. She completed her Associates degree through Utah Valley University. And upon graduation she is planning on taking a few gap years before applying for graduate school. Kyla aspires to be an Audiologist, but is also interested in listening and spoken language (LSL). When she is not studying, she loves to take time to be outside staying active whether it be tennis, paddle boarding, hiking, or hammocking. On top of being a member of the Aural Rehabilitation Lab, Kyla is Vice President of the NSSLHA club and serves as Secretary in the Jump Rope Club at USU.
